Bulky goods are often expensive, tedious and clunky over longer periods.
It’s very expensive to rent or use their camping equipment. About the same, if you invest in your own. We carried ours for 5 months in South America only to use it for 12 days. You want your own gear. Like boots.

If it has value like door-to-door delivery or concierge. You don't want to leave the good stuff you bought from the other continent.Plus, hotels don't like holding stuff for you, especially if it arrives more than a day or two before you do.

Last-mile logistics, it's pricey. Insurance is needed in case of damage or loss. Customer service also always seems tricky depending on the countries. I check it. Ship it. Rent it. Buy it. Sell it.
